In reply to Keith Graham. Uncle Vic lost part of himself so that he could return to an America that would take a leadership role in the world and care about others. I find it incredibly tragic that you chose to use this poignant story to perpetuate your cruel and uncaring worldview. Uncle Vic would not agree with you.

My father is a Philippine Guerrilla who was picked up by the 112th Texas Cavalry during the war as they passed by his hometown and became part of that band of brothers to fight and mop up later. He lived to tell the stories, had a chance to take part of reunion in Texas with the survivors 50 plus years laters. I never served but was raised in a military home and have deep respect for those who served.

In reply to Cyndi K. Illegal immigrants have not earned the privilege to enter this country illegally. They should stay where they are and fight and die when needed for the freedoms that they want, rather than illegally enter our country, claim asylum, and expect the same freedoms that Americans have given their life for. Freedoms and opportunity are not free. Every one wants the freedoms we have but most are not willing to pay the price; they simply want a better life but do not hate those who oppress them enough to pay the price of what they want.
