Incentives are few, no bonus structure. I appreciate the team advocacy point of view as a strategic plan. This information is critical to the development of an employer of choice where success of the enterprise overshadows the silos of individual team goals. Implementing this mindset will improve communication and reinforce the agency culture. Thank you for this response.

It puts a stop (I would hope) to the swinging pendulum that wildly moves between Scrooge like enterprises and “it’s all about the people” approaches that we’ve seen over the last 20 years.

I had an organization director who was playing this type of conflict off of the next tier down managers. He encouraged them to “fight for their people” then would sit back and enjoy the show like an MMA fight. That concept rocked the whole organizations performance. It took his replacement 2 years to get the organization back to working as a larger team and thinking about the good of the enterprise. We now have much better internal communications and focus on the organizations mission and goals by all stakeholders. We also have more engaged employees and managers . I have been involved with this organization for just short of 30 years and now that we have started using crucial skills along with a total organization vision instead of each sub group fighting for “their people” we are preforming much better and have more staff engagement with the organizations mission.
Awesome response to the question

Excellent framework and specific actions.
