We all can agree that sending an email is not an option.
Randy, I like your detailed description of outcomes. I agree that “the end” is more often rumored than real. And that how people act during the period of uncertainty is a test of their character. If you perform at your best under these trying circumstances, it will be noticed and will work to your benefit.

thanks,

David

I am not writing any fluff and stuff just cutting to the chase.

An email will not work.

Second as a consultant on a government contract this person must know as such that you are only employed per contract terms and option years under the contract. If you want to end the possible last contract term by providing a lessor quality service then you are setting yourself up for at least 3 negative outcomes. 1. Breach of contract—no review by the government COTR— or worst yet a negative write up at the end of the contract. 2. With a negative COTR evaluation doors close to the performing firm and this will diminish future contracts with other goverment agencies. 3. A period of lower service makes it easier for the client to end the option year and as i have experienced you loose all chances of an additional option year extension. Know that rumurs fly every year about ending contracts due to lack of funding—seeing how the contractors perform during this period is insightful. So if you are a contractor performing services i believe this is a key time to stay motivated.

The potential for misunderstanding is huge!
