Great reminder Steve. I practice on my family often and my husband will say “hmmmm trying something new today huh, I like it, or what are you trying to do?”. I have a very patient husband that’s for sure. On the flip side I sometimes jump straight in and oh my it can have me struggling, but I do come right eventually.

My family has said to me, “Are you Cru-conning me right now?” when I’ve attempted to use the skills (note the “conning” part). First time my sister said that to me, I was astonished. I had no intention of conning anyone! Your story has reminded me her saying that was a sign that safety was at risk, and to step out of the conversation to revisit my intent and my respect before moving to the issue at hand.
