I wondered if it would be possible to rent a travel trailer or something to be there and yet still have a seperate living space to go to if needed. I think all of us have at least some level of turmoil in our families – that is natural and I agree with Joseph’s priority to maintain relationships in families.

I also recognize there are times when maintaining that relationship can be not just uncomfortable but damaging. Finding a way to participate while also having an excape mechanism is wise in any situation such as this.

Addressing others with respect and dignity for them as well as oneself is critical for health and continuous engagement of discussions from all members. What you’ve provided, Mr. Grenny, are grounded techniques and approaches lending to the success of those virtues and values. Thank you so very much!

This way you still spend the day with family, but have a place to go to if needed.

Joseph, first and foremost I have to tell you how much I appreciate you and your guidance in navigating through some difficult but needed crucial conversations! This conversation of feasting with unruly relatives I would dare say is repeated across the globe yearly, especially during the holidays. Thank you for your transparency and perspective. I benefited from this immensely. k/r

EVERYONE can be toxic at some point, as EVERYONE has lots of things – known or unknown to the judger – going on. Sigh… life… perfect in its imperfection… i need to practice and life will in all likelihood, provide many opportunities… as i look back and realize i didn’t do so good on another one that just happened this morning!.. 🙂 🙁
