I adore the beauty of this well written story. It travels a nostalgic route through food and self-reflection. It’s so honest, sweet, and thought provoking and leaves us all missing strawberries! Well done!

You touched so many true and valid points. Keeping it real and human again, VitalSmarts. Refreshing, just like those wild strawberries

I can remember excitedly telling my nephews that we had sun ripened wild raspberrries growing on our bushes! They couldn’t be bothered.

Signed, County Gal.

We were raised in the same county and my Dad had 35 acres of strawberries! Maybe Kerry was one of his pickers??? Haven’t had any strawberries as good since those days. My grandmother lived on Garden Street the same as he grew up on as well. His stories always make me nostalgic. But, again it is the message that truly hit home. Thank You!

It also reminded me of a comment by Hedrick Smith, author of the 1976 book, The Russians. In his travels to Soviet Russia, he discovered that American produce and Soviet architecture were remarkably simiar: All size, no taste.

From time to time you come across an article like this with no strings attached. It’s refreshing that we, like some or I hope most of us, still have this sense of longing and going after for what really matters. One of the articles that I will keep and share.
Thank you!

This article was my ‘Ah ha’ moment. Today I turn 59 and while my age doesn’t bother me so much, it is the life long struggle of always comparing myself to the women that were born with the bone structure that has given them an advantage over the short, slightly pudgy ones (that is me). Today I feel as if I now have permission to give up the comparison. I will never be taller than 5’2″ and will probably carry around a few extra pounds too. Your insight about not wanting your wife or children to feel like they are ‘unfinished’ struck a cord with me. Thank you for making me finally feel finished enough. I will continue to improve my overall health, which includes dropping a few pounds, but the motivation is entirely different. What a wonderful birthday present! Such a well written article that made a huge difference in my life. Again, thank you for being you.
Sincerely, The Birthday Girl
