You can have a completely practacle, realistic idea, or solution to a problem and a majority of the population will not listen. You can have the best delivery of the best presentation with great supporting material and peoples emotions will kick in and reject it. This has been the case for humanity thru all of recorded history. The mind set that “it’s not invented here” or “it’s not MY Idea” seems to prevail. Humans (excluding some Mathematicians) are not Logical, and almost universally refuse to listen to often well thought out proposals by the more intelligent. I could come up with hundreds of examples. This has always been the story of inventors and creative people.
The CIA indicated that Osama Bin Laden was going to be a problem and that we should take him out 11 years befor 911.
Winston Churchill said Hitler was going to be a problem, no one listened and it cost 20 Million lives in the 2nd World War.
After 2 letters, both forwarded to the President of the United States by Albert Einstein, it took the Pearl Horbor attack before the US started it’s Nuclear program. But the “5 maitians of science” who penned both letters, of which 2 would become Nobel Lauriates, were ignored for 4 years. New Ideas are not readily accepted and people don’t listen to their own smartest people.
